NXT Heritage Cup
Noam Dar (C) vs. Akira Tozawa

We shoot inside the Capitol Wrestling Center as Vic Joseph and Booker T welcome us to the show while the fans chant “NXT! NXT!” in the background. The theme for Akira Tozawa hits and out he comes with Chad Gable, Otis and Maxxine Dupri of Alpha Academy.

The “Junior Cadet” of Alpha Academy heads to the ring for his NXT Heritage Cup opportunity. The commentators point out that in seven previous meetings, Dar has never defeated Tozawa. Tozawa settles in the ring and his theme dies down.

Now the theme for Noam Dar hits and out comes the NXT Heritage Cup Champion “Super Nova 11” Noam Dar. He makes his way out accompanied by The Meta-Four and heads to the ring with his NXT Heritage Cup trophy in-hand. He settles in the ring and his theme dies down.

Vic and Booker run down the rules for a Heritage Cup bout and then the bell sounds to get our opening contest officially off-and-running here on the post-Halloween Havoc edition of NXT on USA. Tozawa takes Dar down to start off the first round. He works him over on the ground but Dar gets back up.

In the corner, we see Tozawa unload on Dar with a flurry of strikes. Dar catches Tozawa coming off the ropes with a big knee to the grill. The fans chant “You still suck!” as we reach the final one minute of the opening frame. Tozawa fights back and does a little hip-dance that pops the crowd and the commentators.

Tozawa heads to the top but gets distracted by The Meta-Four at ringside. He heads down to the floor to deal with them but is attacked from Dar behind. In the ring, they rush to the top-rope and we see a big super-plex right at the bell to end round one.

Alpha Academy and The Meta-Four rush to the ring to get their guys in the corners and revive them. As soon as the second round begins we see Dar jump into the lead and quickly score a pin fall to go up 1-0 in this one. He hits a cheap shot just as we head into a mid-match commercial break.

When we return, we see Tozawa pull off a submission to tie things up 1 to 1. In the final round, however, The Meta-Four sneaks in and pulls Dar out of the way as Tozawa comes off the top for a senton. This allows Dar to pick up the pin fall and win 2-1 to retain his Heritage Cup Championship. After the match, Alpha Academy saves Tozawa from a Meta-Four attack.

Winner and STILL NXT Heritage Cup Champion: Noam Dar

As we settle back in from the break, we see Alpha Academy backstage when they reveal they will be returning next week to appear on Super Nova Sessions. They are approached by Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, Myles Bourne and Damon Kemp and a match is made for later between Otis and Gulak.

Otis vs. Drew Gulak

We return inside the CWC where we hear the familiar sounds of the Alpha Academy theme music. Out comes Otis for our next match of the evening. As he settles inside the squared circle, we shift gears and head into a quick pre-match commercial break.

When we return, we see a video package with Ilja Dragunov responding to the attack from Baron Corbin last week. He vows to tear him apart. We shoot backstage and we see Baron Corbin watching this and dealing with remarks from others before walking off.

Back inside the arena, we see Drew Gulak in the ring with Charlie Dempsey, Myles Bourne and Damon Kemp. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one, which doesn’t last long.

Otis turns Gulak inside-out with a huge clothesline, hits his catapillar and finishes him off for the easy win. After the match, we see Otis and the rest of Alpha Academy dancing around in the ring to a big pop.

No. 1 Contender Women’s Battle Royal

It’s time to find out who is going to be the next challenger to WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at WWE Survivor Series later this month. We shoot backstage and Becky Lynch and Nia Jax have words before we see Chelsea Green & Piper Niven approached by Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.

All explain why they’re going to win. We head into the arena and Nia Jax’s theme hits. She heads to the ring. Out next is Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. Natalya comes out after that and then the Undisputed WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champions Chelsea Green & Piper Niven.

Becky Lynch’s theme hits next and out comes “The Man” to a big pop from the crowd in Wilkes-Barre. She is attacked from behind by Xia Li, who roundhouse kicks her in the dome to knock her out at ringside. A bunch of officials rush to the scene, as does Adam Pearce.

Pearce stops her from going in the ring and says after what she just did to Lynch, she isn’t competing in the match anymore. Officials check on Lynch while Pearce walks Li to the back. We head to a commercial break on that note.

When we return, we see Pearce and medics checking on Lynch in the trainers room in the back. In the arena, a couple additional ring entrances take place and then the bell sounds to get this battle royal off-and-running. Nikki Cross stands in the middle of the ring with a blank look in her face not reacting to anything.

Raquel Rodriguez and Nia Jax end up having a stare down right in front of Cross and then they turn their attention to her. Maxxine Dupri and Tegan Nox end up eliminating Piper Niven. Maxxine does the Alpha Academy “THANK YOU!” but is then immediately eliminated by Nia Jax.

Ivy Nile eliminates Kayden Carter and Katana Chance by herself and then we head into a mid-match commercial break as this high stakes battle royal continues. When we return, Ivy Nile is shown in another impressive moment as she eliminates Natalya.

She turns around into a big boot from Nia Jax, however, who now has the remaining 5-6 competitors all down and out by herself. Nia eliminates Tegan Nox. Ivy Nile goes to lift Nia but Nia stops her. We’re down to the contenders from the Crown Jewel Fatal-5-Way and Ivy Nile. Three of them team up to toss out Nia.

Before she leaves, Nia Jax drags Ivy off the ring apron, which eliminates her. We’re down to Raquel Rodriguez, Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler. Finally, Zoey Stark and Baszler eliminate Rodriguez and Stark eliminates Baszler to win. With the win, Stark challenges Rhea Ripley for the women’s world title at Survivor Series.

Alpha Academy vs. The Creed Brothers

“SHOOSH! SHOOSH PLEASE!” is what we hear next, as Chad Gable, Otis and Maxxine Dupri emerge from the back. They head to the ring accompanied by junior cadet Akira Tozawa for our next match of the evening. They head to the ring while we head to a pre-match commercial break.

When we return, we see a quick vignette for Raquel Rodriguez, where she talks about her chances of winning the multi-person showdown for the WWE Women’s World Championship at Crown Jewel.

The commentators then inform us of how Alpha Academy issued an open challenge for tonight that was answered by former NXT tag champs The Creed Brothers on social media. They introduce a vignette hyping the arrival of The Creed Brothers.

After the video package for The Creed Brothers wraps up, out come the duo of Julius and Brutus Creed, accompanied by Ivy Nile, as the commentators sing their praises. They settle in the ring and the bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running. Gable and Julius kick things off for their respective teams.

Gable jumps into the early offensive lead. Julius fights back and hoists Gable up for a suplex while on his knees. He stands up while holding him up in the air for a suplex, walks over and makes the tag and then passes him off to Brutus in the suplex position. Brutus then finishes off the suplex for a big pop.

Otis tags in moments later and helps shift the offensive momentum in Alpha Academy’s favor. He blasts Brutus with a big shot that knocks him on his butt. Michael Cole jokingly says, “Welcome to the big time!” Brutus comes off the middle rope with a big shot that rocks Otis. He then tags in Julius.

We see Otis take both Creed Bros down with a double clothesline. He then tags in Gable, who leaps off the top-rope with a big shot that takes out both Creed Brothers. He pops up and yells “Thank you!!” as we head into a mid-match commercial break with the action still in progress.

As we settle back in from the break, we see Brutus and Gable fighting it out. Both guys make the tag to Otis and Julius. Dupri and Nile are shown cheering on their respective teams from ringside. Otis takes the hot tag and starts running wild on both of The Creed Brothers. Otis does the catapillar for a near fall attempt.

Things build to a crazy spot where Otis catches Brutus and slams him for a pin, which Julius breaks up with a shooting star press off the top-rope. They stay in a giant stack of bodies and then Gable hits a moonsault onto the pile. Maxxine drags Ivy off the ring apron and the two argue. Akira Tozawa gets in between them but Nile hits a German suplex on him on the floor.

Brutus knocks Gable out of the ring but runs into a clothesline from Otis. Otis heads to the middle rope but the Creeds stop him. One hoists him up and the other leaps off the top-rope with a Brutus-ball for the win in an impressive debut. After the match, Alpha Academy raises The Creed Brothers hands to endorse them to the crowd. Great debut.

Alpha Academy vs. The New Day

The commentators run down the lineup for tonight’s show and then we return to the ring, where we see Alpha Academy already standing. The commentators inform us that Akira Tozawa is with them as their new junior cadet. The theme for The New Day hits and out come Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for this tag showdown against Chad Gable and Otis.

Gable immediately utilizes his amateur wrestling skills to ground Woods and control him. Maxxine Dupri is shown at ringside shouting words of encouragement to Coach Gable.

Kingston tags in and keeps things competitive, however Gable ends up in the offensive lead. He knocks Kofi out to the floor and then hoists Woods up before Otis blasts into him to lay him out. We head to a mid-match commercial break with Alpha Academy in firm control of the offense in this opening contest.

When we return from the break, we see some more back-and-forth action. Otis goes for the caterpillar but gets stopped. Xavier Woods goes for a backwards caterpillar but ends up stuck in an ankle lock by Gable. Kingston ends up hitting the Trouble in Paradise and Woods follows up for the pin fall victory. Good opener.

Winners: The New Day

Kaiser says to tell him by himself. He walks off to do that. Akira Tozawa comes in and demands a match for tonight. Maxxine Dupri runs up and says Chad Gable is gonna be upset. Back in the arena, Johnny Gargano makes his way to the ring as we head to a pre-match commercial break.

Bronson Reed vs. Akira Tozawa

We shoot backstage and we see Nick Aldis talking to Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. Adam Pearce approaches him and says when he told Aldis he could stay he wasn’t inviting him to stick around backstage and talk to all of his Superstars.

Aldis says it was just a friendly conversation. He says he’s gonna take off. Pearce says that sounds like a great idea and thanks him for coming. Nikki Cross walks past him with the blank stare she had the entire time she was out in the arena earlier.

Now we return inside the arena where Bronson Reed’s theme hits. The big man heads to the ring for our next match of the evening, as he takes on the new junior cadet of Alpha Academy, Akira Tozawa. As he settles in the ring, we head to a pre-match commercial break.
