NXT Heritage Cup Championship
Noam Dar (C) vs. Chad Gable

Introduced first is Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable. The fans chant “THANK YOU!!!” The reigning and defending NXT Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar is then introduced. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one.

Gable immediately jumps into the early offensive lead, isolating the arm of Dar and taking him down to the mat. He continues to control him with his superior mat-based amateur wrestling and positioning skills.

Dar traps Gable’s arm behind his back upon returning standing. Gable ends up countering out of it and locking up Dar’s arm once again. Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri have some fun with the crowd at ringside as Gable continues to work over Dar inside it.

Oro Mensah and the rest of The Meta-Four are shown shouting words of encouragement to Dar at ringside. Gable continues to control the action as fans chant “Gable! Gable! Gable!” Dar starts to show signs of life as the final 20 seconds of the first round tick away.

Gable trips Dar down out of nowhere and slaps on an ankle lock. Dar gets to the ropes to free himself and the first round ends. After the break, the second round begins and Dar comes out throwing leg kicks. Gable hits the ropes and runs over Dar and then slaps on a side head-lock.

Moments later, we see The Meta-Four help Dar sneak and cheat his way into the early lead, as he picks up the first fall in the second round to go up 1 to 0. We head to a mid-match commercial break as the third round gets underway.

As we settle back in from the break, we see Gable and Dar trading roll-up attempts as the finals seconds tick away to end the round. The two head to their respective corners as the fourth round is about to get started with Dar still up 1 to 0 over Gable.

Gable fights back in the fourth round, and heads to the top-rope where he leaps off and connects with a flying head butt for a super close near fall attempt. He locks his arms around Dar on the apron outside the ropes looking for a German suplex, but Dar avoids it.

Dar ends up planting Gable on the floor, and he is nearly counted out but rolls back into the ring just after the count of nine. The two are trading shots on their knees as the final ten seconds of the fourth round tick away. Gable hits a German suplex and scores a pin as soon as the fifth rounds begins.

The score is now tied up 1-1 and as the referee is dealing with everyone on the ring apron, we see The Meta-Four blast Gable from behind with a cheap shot. He crawls to his corner and is still out of it as the bell sounds to start the sixth round, so Dar immediately begins beating him down.

We see Gable go to slam Dar down but he gets stuck in a triangle choke from Dar on the bottom. Gable muscles Dar up and Donkey Kongs his way free and goes for the cover. Dar kicks out at two. Dar hits a spinning back elbow that stuns Gable.

He recovers and locks Dar in an ankle lock. Dar pushes him into the corner and gets back to his feet. Gable hoists Dar up for a Razor’s Edge but flips him over front-ways directly into a DDT for a close near fall. Gable heads to the top-rope backwards and goes for a moonsault.

Dar gets his feet up but Gable stops himself and snatches up an ankle lock. Dar tries kicking free again but Gable rolls and hangs on. He drops down and twists it deep. Dar taps just as the bell sounds. There is confusion as to what that means, as Alpha Academy are celebrating with Gable in the ring, but The Meta-Four are also celebrating with Dar.

The fans chant “He tapped you!” The ring announcer declares it tied 1-1 at the end of six rounds. Due to it ending in a tie, the Heritage Cup does not change hands. The fans boo. Awesome opener. The finish didn’t really play out well, as the bell seemed to sound just before Dar tapped.

Noam Dar retains NXT Heritage Cup Championship as match ends in a 1-1 draw.

We shoot to the backstage area when Adam Pearce deals with a bunch of nagging women’s tag-team contenders complaining about wanting a shot at the Undisputed WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championships.

The teams include Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri vs. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell vs. Tegan Nox & Natalya vs. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter. That match is up next. We head to a commercial break on that note.

When we return from the break, we see Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler looking comfortable in The Judgment Day clubhouse as Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio were walking in. Stark and Baszler taunt Ripley. Baszler walks off.

Stark tells Ripley she’s focused on everything but the one thing she should be focused on — her, and their title match at Survivor Series. Stark tells Ripley to talk a long hard look at her title because after this Saturday, it’s coming home with her.

Ripley tells her most people wouldn’t survive a move like the one she just pulled, so she respects that, but warns her that she’ll get her beating at Survivor Series. Michael Cole promotes the PLE for this Saturday and then we shift gears and the duo of Chelsea Green and Piper Niven join them on commentary.

The Undisputed WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champions join the gang on the call for our next match of the evening, which is already in the ring without any entrances for the competitors. Nox and Nile kick things off in the ring.

We head to a mid-match commercial break after Hartwell hits a big dive onto a pile of bodies on the floor. When we return, we see Nile hit a wild spot suplexing two women off the top-rope by herself. Carter and Chance hit a cool double-team spot for a big pop as well. In the end, Nox gets the pin.

Winners and NEW No. 1 Contenders To Undisputed Women’s Tag Titles: Tegan Nox & Natalya

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Chad Gable

Back inside the Van Andel Arena the rock violins begin playing as “The King of Strong Style” emerges. Japanese legend Shinsuke Nakamura makes his way down to the ring for our next match of the evening against Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable.

As he settles inside the squared circle, we shift gears and head into a pre-match commercial break. When we return, we see a WrestleMania Week tickets live ad read and then we shoot to a special word from Ivar and Valhalla. They talk about how in one weeks time the earth will shake because Ivar challenges Bronson Reed.

We then return inside the arena where Nakamura is wrapping up his ring entrance. “SHOOSH!” is what we hear next as Alpha Academy makes their way out, as Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri accompany “Coach” Chad Gable to the ring for this one-on-one contest against Nakamura.

The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one. The commentators mention Gable’s Heritage Cup shot against Noam Dar on tomorrow night’s episode of NXT on USA. We see some back-and-forth action and then Gable takes over and lets out a “THANK YOU!” as we head into a mid-match commercial break.

When we return, we see Gable still dominating the majority of the offense until he runs into a well-placed and well-timed elbow by “The King of Strong Style.” Nakamura follows up with a sliding German suplex for some heat from the crowd. He lands a flying knee off the middle rope for a close near fall attempt.

Gable fights back into the offensive driver’s seat and then heads to the top-rope. He leaps off and connects with a picture-perfect flying headbutt for a super close near fall attempt. Nakamura takes the padding off the turnbuckle. He then blasts Gable with a roundhouse kick that decks him.

He sets him up for the Kinshasa but Gable avoids it. Gable counters and hits the Chaos Theory for a close near fall attempt. Nakamura starts to fight back but Gable launches him overhead with a full nelson suplex. He then pulls the straps down like Kurt Angle in his prime and heads back to the top-rope.

He goes for a moonsault but Nakamura gets the boots up. Nakamura follows up by launching Gable overhead. He goes for the Kinshasa again but Gable picks the ankle and locks in an ankle lock. Nakamura fights it and eventually escapes. He tries sending Gable into the turnbuckle without the padding. Gable stops himself but Nakamura rolls him up for the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Seth says don’t you have a match tonight. Cody says tonight is step one of beating The Judgment Day. Rollins tells him to cut the crap and say what’s really on his mind. Cody asks Seth to come through just one night at WarGames.

Rollins says he doesn’t like Cody and doesn’t know if he’ll ever like him. He says he respects him and if he needs him for one night, he promises they’re good. Rollins says “Now go win them damn titles” and walks off as Cody smiles real big.

We go back inside the Capital One Arena and out comes Shinsuke Nakamura as the rock violins play. We see the footage from last week that set this match up and then the bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running. Nakamura blasts Otis with an assortment of kicks early on.

Otis gets Nakamura down and has him set up for the Catapillar, but Nakamura slides under the ropes to avoid it. Otis heads out and runs over Nakamura and lets out an “OH YEAH!” Gable follows up with a “SHOOSH!” and then we head into a mid-match commercial break.

As we settle back in from the commercials, we see Otis taking over on offense again. This time he has Nakamura down for the Catapillar spot and he hits it. He goes for the cover but the Japanese legend kicks out after the count of two.

After some more back-and-forth action, we see Otis connect with a World’s Strongest Slam for another close near fall. He heads to the top rope but Nakamura avoids him. Nakamura connects with a Kinshasa off the middle rope and follows up with another and then a third for the win. After the match, Nakamura and Gable face-off.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

We then see The Creed Brothers with Alpha Academy backstage. They talk about training and then when the topic of the tag titles comes up, in comes The New Day. The camera pans over and shows Ivy Nile and Maxxine Dupri giving each other props for their battle royal performances last week.

They mention “girl math” and walk off together. Akira Tozawa yells out “SHOOSH!” and then does an impression of Big E. doing his hip-swival dance. That’s how a goofy bunch of backstage segments wrap up.
