Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Otis

We see another sub-title video package from Shinsuke Nakamura. He mentions being frustrated. He says you are privelaged and this will all end by his hands. He never says who he’s talking about.

Back in the arena, we hear “SHOOSH! SHOOSH PLEASE!” As the Alpha Academy theme hits, out comes Otis for his scheduled showdown against “The King of Strong Style.” As he heads to the ring, we head to a pre-match commercial break.

When we return, Cole and Barrett runs down information for tickets to events during WrestleMania 40 Week. We shoot backstage and we see Cody, Sami and Seth talking. Sami walks off and we see the tension with Cody and Seth. Cody asks if they can talk.

Seth says don’t you have a match tonight. Cody says tonight is step one of beating The Judgment Day. Rollins tells him to cut the crap and say what’s really on his mind. Cody asks Seth to come through just one night at WarGames.

Rollins says he doesn’t like Cody and doesn’t know if he’ll ever like him. He says he respects him and if he needs him for one night, he promises they’re good. Rollins says “Now go win them damn titles” and walks off as Cody smiles real big.

We go back inside the Capital One Arena and out comes Shinsuke Nakamura as the rock violins play. We see the footage from last week that set this match up and then the bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running. Nakamura blasts Otis with an assortment of kicks early on.

Otis gets Nakamura down and has him set up for the Catapillar, but Nakamura slides under the ropes to avoid it. Otis heads out and runs over Nakamura and lets out an “OH YEAH!” Gable follows up with a “SHOOSH!” and then we head into a mid-match commercial break.

As we settle back in from the commercials, we see Otis taking over on offense again. This time he has Nakamura down for the Catapillar spot and he hits it. He goes for the cover but the Japanese legend kicks out after the count of two.

After some more back-and-forth action, we see Otis connect with a World’s Strongest Slam for another close near fall. He heads to the top rope but Nakamura avoids him. Nakamura connects with a Kinshasa off the middle rope and follows up with another and then a third for the win. After the match, Nakamura and Gable face-off.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

We then see The Creed Brothers with Alpha Academy backstage. They talk about training and then when the topic of the tag titles comes up, in comes The New Day. The camera pans over and shows Ivy Nile and Maxxine Dupri giving each other props for their battle royal performances last week.

They mention “girl math” and walk off together. Akira Tozawa yells out “SHOOSH!” and then does an impression of Big E. doing his hip-swival dance. That’s how a goofy bunch of backstage segments wrap up.

NXT Heritage Cup
Noam Dar (C) vs. Akira Tozawa

We shoot inside the Capitol Wrestling Center as Vic Joseph and Booker T welcome us to the show while the fans chant “NXT! NXT!” in the background. The theme for Akira Tozawa hits and out he comes with Chad Gable, Otis and Maxxine Dupri of Alpha Academy.

The “Junior Cadet” of Alpha Academy heads to the ring for his NXT Heritage Cup opportunity. The commentators point out that in seven previous meetings, Dar has never defeated Tozawa. Tozawa settles in the ring and his theme dies down.

Now the theme for Noam Dar hits and out comes the NXT Heritage Cup Champion “Super Nova 11” Noam Dar. He makes his way out accompanied by The Meta-Four and heads to the ring with his NXT Heritage Cup trophy in-hand. He settles in the ring and his theme dies down.

Vic and Booker run down the rules for a Heritage Cup bout and then the bell sounds to get our opening contest officially off-and-running here on the post-Halloween Havoc edition of NXT on USA. Tozawa takes Dar down to start off the first round. He works him over on the ground but Dar gets back up.

In the corner, we see Tozawa unload on Dar with a flurry of strikes. Dar catches Tozawa coming off the ropes with a big knee to the grill. The fans chant “You still suck!” as we reach the final one minute of the opening frame. Tozawa fights back and does a little hip-dance that pops the crowd and the commentators.

Tozawa heads to the top but gets distracted by The Meta-Four at ringside. He heads down to the floor to deal with them but is attacked from Dar behind. In the ring, they rush to the top-rope and we see a big super-plex right at the bell to end round one.

Alpha Academy and The Meta-Four rush to the ring to get their guys in the corners and revive them. As soon as the second round begins we see Dar jump into the lead and quickly score a pin fall to go up 1-0 in this one. He hits a cheap shot just as we head into a mid-match commercial break.

When we return, we see Tozawa pull off a submission to tie things up 1 to 1. In the final round, however, The Meta-Four sneaks in and pulls Dar out of the way as Tozawa comes off the top for a senton. This allows Dar to pick up the pin fall and win 2-1 to retain his Heritage Cup Championship. After the match, Alpha Academy saves Tozawa from a Meta-Four attack.

Winner and STILL NXT Heritage Cup Champion: Noam Dar

As we settle back in from the break, we see Alpha Academy backstage when they reveal they will be returning next week to appear on Super Nova Sessions. They are approached by Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, Myles Bourne and Damon Kemp and a match is made for later between Otis and Gulak.

Otis vs. Drew Gulak

We return inside the CWC where we hear the familiar sounds of the Alpha Academy theme music. Out comes Otis for our next match of the evening. As he settles inside the squared circle, we shift gears and head into a quick pre-match commercial break.

Back inside the arena, we see Drew Gulak in the ring with Charlie Dempsey, Myles Bourne and Damon Kemp. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one, which doesn’t last long.

Otis turns Gulak inside-out with a huge clothesline, hits his catapillar and finishes him off for the easy win. After the match, we see Otis and the rest of Alpha Academy dancing around in the ring to a big pop.

Alpha Academy vs. The New Day

The commentators run down the lineup for tonight’s show and then we return to the ring, where we see Alpha Academy already standing. The commentators inform us that Akira Tozawa is with them as their new junior cadet. The theme for The New Day hits and out come Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for this tag showdown against Chad Gable and Otis.

Now the bell sounds and we’re officially off and running with our first match of the evening. Chad Gable and Xavier Woods kick things off for their respective teams. Gable immediately utilizes his amateur wrestling skills to ground Woods and control him. Maxxine Dupri is shown at ringside shouting words of encouragement to Coach Gable.

Kingston tags in and keeps things competitive, however Gable ends up in the offensive lead. He knocks Kofi out to the floor and then hoists Woods up before Otis blasts into him to lay him out. We head to a mid-match commercial break with Alpha Academy in firm control of the offense in this opening contest.

When we return from the break, we see some more back-and-forth action. Otis goes for the caterpillar but gets stopped. Kaiser says to tell him by himself. He walks off to do that. Akira Tozawa comes in and demands a match for tonight. Maxxine Dupri runs up and says Chad Gable is gonna be upset. Back in the arena, Johnny Gargano makes his way to the ring as we head to a pre-match commercial break.

Bronson Reed vs. Akira Tozawa

We shoot backstage and we see Nick Aldis talking to Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. Adam Pearce approaches him and says when he told Aldis he could stay he wasn’t inviting him to stick around backstage and talk to all of his Superstars.

Aldis says it was just a friendly conversation. He says he’s gonna take off. Pearce says that sounds like a great idea and thanks him for coming. Nikki Cross walks past him with the blank stare she had the entire time she was out in the arena earlier.

Now we return inside the arena where Bronson Reed’s theme hits. The big man heads to the ring for our next match of the evening, as he takes on the new junior cadet of Alpha Academy, Akira Tozawa. As he settles in the ring, we head to a pre-match commercial break.

Maxxine Dupri vs. Valhalla

We see shots of Maxxine Dupri and Valhalla backstage before we head to another commercial break. The two women will do battle in one-on-one action when we return.

When we return from the break, Patrick and Graves hype Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar in their highly-anticipated trilogy match at Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2023 pay-per-view.

From there, they introduce a lengthy video package telling the whole story to date between “The American Nightmare” and “The Beast Incarnate.” Once it wraps up, we return inside the arena for our next match of the evening.

The theme music for Maxxine Dupri hits and out she comes accompanied by Alpha Academy duo Chad Gable and Otis. She heads to the ring for her scheduled singles match Raw debut. As she settles in the ring, we head to a pre-match commercial break.

When we return from the break, we see Valhalla make her way out. She heads to the ring accompanied by Erik and Ivar — The Viking Raiders. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one-on-one contest.

Early on we see Dupri showing off her basic wrestling skills taught to her by Coach Chad Gable, as she executes some picture-perfect arm-drags and other moves. She controls Valhalla on the mat with good grappling-based offense.

Valhalla starts to shift the offensive momentum in her favor and then we see her enjoy some time in the offensive driver’s seat. Ultimately, however, Dupri gets the roll-up after a couple of minutes for the victory in her singles match debut on Raw.

Winner: Maxxine Dupri

We see Chad Gable and Otis celebrating with Maxxine Dupri after her successful in-ring debut earlier tonight. Up walks Imperium. GUNTHER mocks them, noting Ludwig Kaiser put on a performance that brought the respect back to their great sport, only for Alpha Academy to turn it back into a joke moments later.

As the two teams continue to bicker back-and-forth, things culminate with a 5 Minute Challenge being issued, with WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER vowing that Chad Gable wouldn’t be able to survive five minutes in the ring with him.
